December 14, 2023 , 12:30 pm - 5:40 pm UTC+7
BRIN leads the WAITRO SDG2 Working Group formed at the WAITRO Summit 2022 in Cape Town, South Africa. SDG2 aims to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030. This working group will bring together researchers belonging to WAITRO member organizations to develop strategies, coordinate efforts, and implement initiatives, events, or activities that contribute to achieving SDG 2.
As a follow-up, BRIN and WAITRO will hold a Webinar to further develop the SDG2 WAITRO Working Group on December 14th, 2023. Dr. Paul E. Burrows, Secretary General of WAITRO, will introduce WAITRO and the importance of the SDG2 Working Group. BRIN will introduce funding schemes and research mobility programs to attract global collaboration and give researchers from other countries the opportunity to conduct research in Indonesia. Other speakers will share their experiences on International Collaboration Strategies, assessing SDG Impact through the SciVal Platform, and strengthening research capacity in RTOs.
The Panel Discussion will feature speakers from each region, who will share opportunities and challenges in implementing SDG2 in their region including resources, infrastructure, funding, technology status, government support, and industrial potential.
We will also introduce SAIRA as a platform for finding the right partners for collaboration.
This event is free and open to WAITRO members and non-members interested in joining the SDG2 Working Group. Subsequent webinars will be held based on topics of interest to participants.
