The Global Innovation Summit 2024, which is organised within the scope of the 2023/2024 Turkish Eureka Chairship, aims to convene stakeholders from across the research, innovation and entrepreneurship landscape to explore collaboration opportunities, showcase cutting-edge projects and promote cross-border partnerships within the Eureka network. With a diverse range of sessions.

including thematic discussions, pitching sessions and country presentations, the Summit provides a comprehensive platform for attendees to engage with the latest trends, funding mechanisms and best practices in research and innovation. Highlights of the Summit include the Türkiye EUREKA Innovation Awards, recognising exemplary projects within the network and dedicated sessions focusing on key themes such as green transition and digitalisation. Additionally, participants will have access to networking opportunities, B&B meetings and an exhibition area where projects, countries and stakeholders can connect, collaborate and showcase their contributions to advancing innovation. Overall, the Summit catalyses driving collaboration, fostering innovation and accelerating societal impact within the Turkish and broader Eureka innovation ecosystems.

Türkiye Chair

Eureka’s prestigious Chair is held by Türkiye from July 2023 and June 2024, a period of immense global significance. The candidacy was approved in a High-level Group meeting held in Belgium in 2022. In recent years, the transformative and destructive effects of rapidly developing technologies, global trends, socio-economic challenges persist in increasing the need for science, technology, and innovation across all countries. However, sustainability, digitalisation, resilience to multiple risks, social inclusion, competitiveness and working together have gained even greater importance to open new opportunities for a more sustainable future.

The Global Innovation Summit 2024 is not just a gathering but a crucial platform that brings together global leaders, decision-makers, companies, and key research organizations from all over the globe. Together, we will tackle the most pressing challenges of an ever-changing world, inspiring and engaging each other to drive meaningful change.

To realise the goals for Eureka during our time as Chair, a dedicated team from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) has been established. They work together with the Eureka Secretariat, the Executive Board, and the Executive Group to strengthen Eureka according to it priority areas.
