WAITRO Event Series – Event 2

Innovation is crucial to our future. But what kind of future do we want? Responsible research and innovation (RRI) answer this question with clear values designed to guide every research activity. The RRI framework helps to achieve a better alignment of research and innovation with societal and environmental needs.

The aim of the workshop is to introduce the principles of RRI and to discuss how they can be applied and considered in the field of application-oriented research. The agenda will include an opening speech from the WAITRO Office Germany, a presentation on RRI in practice and a Q&A session at the end.

About Prof. Dr. Martina Schraudner  

Prof. Dr. Martina Schraudner is the scientific director of the Fraunhofer Center for Responsible Research and Innovation, which she founded. Voluntarily, she is active in the Future Circle of the Federal Ministry of Research. She is also on the board of the Technical University of Berlin and the Competence Center Technology-Diversity-Equal Opportunities. Prof. Dr. Schraudner is a member of the University Council of the University of Paderborn and the Landshut University of Applied Sciences.  

Prof. Dr. Martina Schraudner is active in national and international selection committees for application-oriented research and innovation projects and was on the acatech-German Academy of Science and Engineering board from January 2018 to December 2021.
