Accelerating members’ collective impact on the SDGs
WORKING GROUPS
WAITRO SDG WORKING GROUPS
In 2022, WAITRO establishes four SDG Working Groups, each dedicated to specific areas around one of the following Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)
- SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
- SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation)
- SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy)
Aims of the Working Groups
WAITRO SUMMIT 2022 – Kick-off Workshops
The WAITRO Summit 2022 will be the starting point of the WAITRO SDG Working Groups. During the kick-off workshops, Working Groups begin to define their goals and develop a strategy and work plan to achieve these goals. The key task of each 90-minute session is to select a chair and agree on overarching goals and next steps. Working Groups are expected to address a clear goal and create outputs. Working Groups call on the Secretariat’s administrative support, while future WAITRO Summits will provide a regular forum for all WAITRO SDG Working Groups to meet and present results.
What is a Working Group?
- A group (20-30) of experts in a specific area working together to achieve specified goal(s)
Who can be a member of a Working Group?

- External stakeholders may be invited as observers
How are Working Groups organized?
- Each Working Group is led by one or more WAITRO member organizations

What is the mode of working?
- The mode of working of each Working Group will be decided by their members during the kick-off meetings during the WAITRO Summit 2022; it is likely to be: working by correspondence, (informal) meetings when needed, regular meetings at WAITRO Summits
