Welcoming New Board Members
For the 2021-2022 period, the WAITRO Executive Board welcomes Mapitso Molefe from CSIR South Africa as the new Regional Representative for Africa and Dr. Emad Ewais from the Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute Egypt (CMRDI) as the Regional Representative for Middle East and North Africa.
Mapitso Molefe works as an Executive Manager for the Next Generation Health and Advanced Agriculture & Food Clusters for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa and serves on several national committees. She has extensive experience working for RTOs like CSIR and in the private sector, both in South Africa and internationally. The new WAITRO Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, Emad Ewais, is the president of the Central Metallurgical Research Institute in Cairo, Egypt. He serves on several boards and committees and has done extensive research in various areas of processing, sintering and application of ceramic materials. Both representatives have already been officially introduced to the Board and Secretariat in a previous Board Meeting on December 10th, 2020, which they were invited to attend as observers.
