WAITRO Joins UN-Event

The annual Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum) is a part of the Technology Facilitation Mechanism mandated by the 2030 Agenda and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda. The Forum facilitates networking between science, technology and innovation cooperation for the implementation of the SDGs.

It creates a platform which supports solutions by creating networks and communities among people who are developing technological innovations, stakeholders who can support or scale up such innovations, and those who need such innovations to implement the SDGs. The fourth annual STI Forum took place on 14-15 May 2019 at UN Headquarters, New York. Head of the WAITRO Office Germany, Dominik Reinertz, attended the event and demonstrated WAITRO’s commitment to the SDGs. WAITRO was allotted a slot to speak at the Panel Discussion. Dominik Reinertz used the opportunity of the Intervention to introduce SAIRA as a mechanism that enables global partnerships for the SDGs. The event was a great success for WAITRO and new connections with potential strategic partners were established.
