Meeting with Africa-Europe Innovation Partnership

From December 3rd to 5th representatives of African and Europe accelerators and technology incubators met in Marseille, France, bringing together tech-hubs and technology transfer networks from both continents to connect and increase the potential for collaboration.

The goal of the Africa-Europe Innovation Partnership is to create a community of practice in technology development and transfer across both continents to ultimately foster the development of sustainable business models. Anna Wohlrab, who attended the event as a representative of WAITRO, had the opportunity to present WAITRO and SAIRA as a platform to enhance and facilitate the transfer of technologies that help achieve the SDGs. The project is funded by the European Commission and was initiated by Dr. Christina Russo, Director for International Cooperation at the Directorate General for Research and Innovation in the European Commission. Dr Russo also joined the participants for an intimate session to discuss and exchange ideas.
