First Virtual Board Meeting
Given the current travel ban due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the WAITRO Executive Board just held the first of two Board meetings this year virtually via Zoom. The first digital meeting in the history of WAITRO was split into three parts on three days, and after a very successful first session, the Board has already decided on some current important issues of the association.
It was decided that the WAITRO Global Innovation Award wouldn’t be canceled, but postponed by one year, to November and December 2021 as well as the WAITRO Innovation Award. However, the Board also agreed to hold the 25th WAITRO General Assembly still in 2020, most likely online. For the two following parts of the 84th WAITRO Executive Board meeting, the Board members are about to discuss how to address the 50th anniversary of WAITRO in October 2020.
The WAITRO Board and Secretariat are looking forward to keeping on pushing our association and with it international cooperation and collaboration; whether digitally or in person. Stay tuned for more information and the results of the upcoming next Board Meetings!
