Deepening Ties with the European Commission

Working towards establishing WAITRO as the major global network for EU funded projects, Dominik Reinertz, Head of WAITRO Office Germany, and Dirk Saseta Krieg, Regional Representative for Europe, met with Dr. Christina Russo, Director for International Cooperation at the Directorate General for Research and Innovation in the European Commission.

Russo, who is responsible for developing and implementing the EU international strategy and the international dimension of the Horizon program, showed a strong interest in WAITRO’s efforts for international research collaborations. As a global network of RTOs, WAITRO is an important link between innovators in Europe and the rest of the world. WAITRO facilitates consortia building of WAITRO members and the application for HORIZON 2020 and HORIZON EUROPE calls.
