TUM has recently joined WAITRO as a Full Member. The origin of Technical University of Mombasa can be traced back to the late 1940’s as a result of the consultations pioneered by Sir Philip Mitchell in 1948 between The Aga Khan, the Sultan of Zanzibar, the Secretary of State for the colonies, Sir Bernard Reilly and H. M. Treasury.
Historically, university researchers have collaborated with industrial scientists on marketable projects. TUM, being a critical industry player in shaping the market, will seek to bring on board savvy minds across major faculties to drive its development agenda.
