FORTH joins WAITRO as a Full Member
FORTH has recently joined WAITRO as Full Member. FORTH (Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas) was founded in 1983. Even though they have nine Research Institutes, its headquarters and central administration are based in Heraklion, Crete.
FORTH conducts specialized scientific research in strategic high-added value sectors, focusing on interdisciplinary research and development (R&D) activities in areas of major scientific, societal and economic interest, for instance:

- Advanced Materials / Nanotechnology
- Molecular Biology and Genetics
- Biotechnology
- Computer Science
- Bioinformatics
- Energy
- Environment

FORTH’s aim is to foster a prosperous environment for researchers to perform high-level scientific research in Greece, being their priority to cultivate an environment that fosters Learning, Research and Innovation.
