CCCEM joins WAITRO as a Full Member
CCCEM has recently joined WAITRO as a Full Member. The Centre for Climate Change and Environment Management (CCCEM) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) formed in 2013 to address challenges that climate change has brought and will bring to the Malawi environment and the world at large.
CCCEM’s mission is to raise awareness, encouraging and undertaking action-oriented initiatives that promote sustainable Climate change, natural resources and environment management practices that uplift the livelihood and socioeconomic development of all in Malawi and beyond.
Liked with their mission, their Objectives are:
- Rescue old weather and climatic data from independent/voluntary weather stations for use by Scientists, Researchers, and the education world.
- Assist all independent and voluntary weather Stations in establishing a network of Rainfall or Weather Stations within their catchment areas.
- To capacity build all stakeholders in independent/voluntary weather/rainfall observations so that their data becomes standardized reliable and made available nationally, regionally and globally.
- To improve food security through production and diversification and sensitize the communities in collaboration with Agricultural experts for farmers to adapt to better practices in their crop production.
- To improve the resilience of the environment, eco systems and natural resources for a sustainable future.
- Empowering women and the youth to live a resilient life.
Its motto is simple and forceful, bringing meteorological and environmental management knowledge to everyone.
