WAITRO Executive Board 2023-2024, WAITRO Secretariat 2023–2026 & Regional Focal Points (RFPs)

The 26th General Assembly also approved the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) as the host of the WAITRO Secretariat for the period 2023–26. Subsequently, at its 91st meeting, the new Executive Board confirmed Paul Burrows (JITRI) as Secretary General and created (for the life of the current Secretariat) a new position of Chief of Staff to be filled by Eckart Bierdümpel (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft). Furthermore, the Executive Board also approved the appointment of the following Regional Focal Points (RFPs):
- Europe: Leitat Technological Center, Spain
- Latin America and the Caribbean: Centro de Ciencia y Tecnología de Antioquia (CTA), Colombia
- Sub-Saharan Africa: North-West University (NWU), South Africa
- Asia-Pacific: Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), Thailand
- Middle East and North Africa: The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK)
