CMRDI will host 2nd IQ-ICF Conference in Africa and Middle East, Luxor, Egypt

On November 18-21, 2024, Luxor, Egypt, Central Metallurgical R&D Institute (CMRDI), WAITRO’s Regional Focal Point for Middle East and North Africa Region, will host the 2nd InterQuadrennial ICF Conference in Africa and Middle East. The Conference themed on “Processing, Performance and Failure Analysis of Engineering Materials” will be organized in cooperation between International Congress on Fracture (ICF) and Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI), Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egypt. This was after the success of hosting the 1st IQ-ICF conference in Egypt 2011. ICF is an international body whose membership is spreading along tenths of countries from Europe – North and South America – Asia – Australia – Africa. The 2nd IQ-ICF conference will discuss scientific and technological topics including properties, performance and fracture mechanics of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, corrosion and surface protection, manufacturing technologies including foundry, forming, welding, laser materials processing, 3-D manufacturing, repair welding, powder metallurgy, NDT as well as failure analysis and trouble-shooting of plant equipment in various industrial sectors including chemical, metallic, engineering, petroleum, power generation and other relevant areas.

The organizing committee is doing its best to ensure that this important event delivers a great conference with high-quality technical and scientific content combined with excellent hospitality and leisure experience. The conference will be held in the beautiful city of Luxor-the World’s Greatest Open-air Museum and one of the most wonderful Winter Resorts in the world.
