At WAITRO, we believe that research and innovation must be closely linked to policy to drive meaningful change. By advocating for evidence-based decision-making and fostering dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and funding agencies, we want to ensure that science, technology, and innovation (STI) policies are responsive to global challenges and aligned with the needs of our members worldwide. Through active representation at international forums and collaboration with key stakeholders, we want to shape policies that strengthen research ecosystems and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As we step into the policy space, our goal is to become a globally recognized advocate for embedding science and innovation into evidence-based policymaking. From global platforms to regional dialogues, from position papers to co-designed policy labs our growing engagement in this area aims at connecting researchers, funders, and decision-makers to shape smarter, more inclusive policies.
