WAITRO Fellowship Program

WAITRO has launched a Fellowship Program that supports academic exchanges and international travel for researchers and managerial personnel from WAITRO member organizations. These fellowships demonstrate WAITRO’s strong commitment to fostering global collaboration, facilitating knowledge exchange, and building long-lasting partnerships in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The TÜBİTAK-WAITRO Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is the result of a strategic agreement among WAITRO Board members, made possible through TÜBİTAK’s generous financial support. This fellowship supports early-career researchers from WAITRO member organizations outside Türkiye who either hold a PhD or are enrolled in a doctoral program. The program enables them to conduct research within the TÜBİTAK ecosystem on topics aligned with the SDGs. The goal is to strengthen international scientific cooperation and provide young researchers with valuable global exposure.

The BRIN-WAITRO SDG2 Zero Hunger Fellowship is part of Indonesia’s broader capacity development initiative to promote global mobility for science and technology talent. It specifically targets SDG2: Zero Hunger. Through this fellowship, BRIN invites foreign postdocs and researchers to spend between a few months and up to a year in Indonesia. Participants engage in collaborative research, develop tangible project outcomes, and build meaningful international academic networks. Each fellowship comes with substantial financial support from BRIN.

The JITRI-WAITRO Fellowship Program offers mid-career research professionals and innovation-focused managers a unique learning experience at the intersection of science, technology, and sustainable business. Fellows participate in research or industrial transitional programs hosted by international institutions, helping to bridge technological gaps and foster innovation. The program also supports technical and managerial exchanges through the WAITRO Travel Subsidy, promoting international collaboration and the development of science and technology capabilities across WAITRO member countries.
