WAITRO’s Digital Matchmaking Platform

SAIRA is WAITRO’s digital matchmaking platform that enables the identification of suitable partners for research consortia and collaboration with the private sector.

Background & Evolution

SAIRA was originally developed by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, which hosted the WAITRO Secretariat from 2019 to 2022. Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the first version of the platform (SAIRA 1.0) was launched in early 2019. A second version (SAIRA 2.0) followed in 2021, developed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
