WAITRO Summit 2024 – Breakout Session 4: Becoming Better Through WAITRO Benchmarking
November 14 , 10:30 am - November 15 , 5:00 pm UTC+8
Co-Organizers: Knud Eric Hilding-Hamann, Moses Mengu (DTI, Denmark)
Imagine having access to global RTO data at your fingertips. Benchmarking unveils hidden patterns, validates hypotheses, and sparks new research questions. It’s the fuel your intellectual curiosity craves.
Forward-thinking managers in the dynamic landscape of research and technology organizations (RTOs) understand that staying ahead requires more than just intuition—it demands data-driven insights. Benchmarking is your secret weapon. Benchmarking empowers you to compare your RTO’s performance against industry peers, identify gaps, and fine-tune your strategies. Whether it’s resource allocation, process optimization, or innovation pipelines, data-backed decisions lead to success. The WAITRO Benchmarking Platform is designed to discover best practices and spot emerging trends (we’ve been doing this since the 1990s), empowering you to boost your RTO’s growth trajectory.
As well as discussing the results and data collection process, you will also connect with like-minded leaders, share experiences, and forge collaborations. The WAITRO Benchmarking platform isn’t just about numbers; it’s about building a vibrant community of RTO visionaries.
Join us at the WAITRO Summit 2024—your compass to RTO excellence!
Goals:
- Introduce benchmarking as a method for measuring institutional performance in the various processes involved in managing an RTO.
- Compare and contrast the WAITRO Benchmarking Platform with other benchmarking activities, gather best practices to incorporate into the WAITRO system and discover collaboration opportunities.
- Share and discuss insights learned from 3 processes that were part of the WAITRO Online Benchmarking Platform during 2023.
- Develop a path forward for future WAITRO activities using the online platform.
Sub-Session 1
- Introductory Overview of Benchmarking
- Panel Discussion: Benchmarking methods
· CSIRO (Australia) and WAITRO by Knud Erik
Sub-Session 2
- What we learned from 3 sub-topics in the WAITRO Benchmarking exercise.
