Funding Info Day: Empowering opportunities of the Cross-Regional Collaboration (Webinar)

On 28th February 2024, from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs (GMT+7) Thailand & Indonesia Local Time, the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) will host a webinar introducing funding opportunities in Asia and the Pacific, and the European Region. This event is part of a global partnership foresting initiatives branded with the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO).
Introduction
The World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO) is a global network fostering collaboration among research and technology organizations. Comprising a diverse array of institutions with over 100 members where, mostly research and technology organizations, WAITRO aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, innovation, and sustainable development on an international scale. Its member organizations span various regions, including Africa, Asia & the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East, contributing expertise in fields ranging from science and technology to industrial research.
The Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) serves as WAITRO’s Regional Focal Point (RFP) for Asia and the Pacific Region. TISTR views WAITRO as a pivotal platform for accessing information and partners for public research and innovation funding, which is vital in fostering regional and cross-regional collaboration among WAITRO member organizations. Consequently, TISTR will host the “Funding Info Day” webinar as a strategic initiative. This event aims to disseminate detailed information on international joint funding schemes and allows researchers with existing project concepts to connect with potential co-application partners.
Two funding schemes are selected for this webinar: the Southeast Asia – Europe Joint Funding Scheme for Research and Innovation and the e-Asia Joint Research Program. Both are open for applications annually, with the current application circle closed by March and April 2024. The thematic areas of these funding schemes align well with achieving the SDGs, which are the priorities of WAITRO’s works and services.
