Intelligent Energy & Battery Management
APIORIS Teknoloji Anonim Şirketi is developing an intelligent, end-to-end energy management and decision-support platform that brings energy generation, consumption, battery performance, asset conditions, and market conditions together in a single environment. Using machine learning, forecasting, and optimization, the platform helps organizations make smarter operational and commercial decisions while improving energy efficiency, maximizing the value of renewable energy and storage assets, and protecting long-term battery health.
Challenge
As renewable energy generation and battery storage become increasingly important, energy systems are also becoming more complex. Energy generation, consumption, storage, and market operations are often managed through separate systems, creating fragmented decision-making and making it difficult to optimize the overall performance of a facility.
Battery management presents an additional challenge. Charging and discharging decisions focused primarily on short-term revenues can accelerate battery degradation, reduce useful lifetime, and ultimately decrease the economic value of storage assets. Operators therefore need a more integrated approach that considers both immediate operational requirements and the long-term performance of their energy assets.
Solution and Innovation
APIORIS addresses these challenges by combining the relevant energy and operational parameters within a single intelligent platform. The system evaluates generation, consumption, battery status, market conditions, and asset performance simultaneously to identify more efficient and economically valuable operating strategies.
Machine-learning models and forecasting capabilities allow the platform to anticipate energy production, consumption patterns, and market conditions. Optimization algorithms can then support decisions on when and how energy should be consumed, stored, or discharged, while taking battery health and long-term asset performance into account.
The key innovation is the platform’s end-to-end system perspective. Rather than optimizing individual components independently, APIORIS evaluates the energy system as an interconnected whole. This reduces operational complexity, improves the utilization of renewable energy and storage, and helps avoid unnecessary battery degradation.
The platform can serve renewable energy producers, energy-storage operators and investors, energy trading and portfolio management companies, battery and energy technology providers, and energy-intensive businesses. It is particularly relevant for industrial facilities that generate their own electricity and need to coordinate generation, consumption, storage, and operational requirements within one system.
Expected Impact
APIORIS is designed to improve both the economic and environmental performance of energy systems. More intelligent use of battery storage and renewable generation can reduce inefficient energy use, increase utilization of existing infrastructure, and support greater integration of renewable energy.
Current projections indicate the potential to increase revenue by up to 25%, extend battery life by up to 40%, and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,620 tonnes compared with revenue-focused decision-making alone. These figures represent current potential and will need to be validated through real-world pilot applications.
The solution therefore addresses several dimensions of the energy transition simultaneously: greater energy efficiency, improved renewable-energy integration, longer battery asset lifetimes, reduced operational complexity, and lower carbon emissions. It contributes particularly to SDGs 7, 9, 12, and 13.
Development and Scale-Up
The project is currently at the Prototype in Development stage. The initial platform and optimization models are being developed, with the next step being validation in real-world energy operations.
Following successful pilot validation, APIORIS is designed to scale as a SaaS platform that can be adapted to different facilities, energy systems, storage configurations, and operational requirements. The intended pathway is to first validate the solution with pilot partners, then expand across industrial and renewable-energy sites before entering international markets.
Its software-based and modular nature provides the potential to deploy the platform across different energy environments without requiring fundamental changes to existing physical infrastructure.
