The Challenge
Industrial and agricultural waste pollutes air, water and soil, while the construction sector remains heavily dependent on carbon-intensive materials and virgin natural resources. At the same time, cities and regions face growing challenges related to waste management, energy demand and resource depletion.
MKK ReNovate Environmental Group addresses these interconnected challenges through an integrated circular economy approach that transforms waste streams into valuable, low-carbon resources.
The Solution
The project combines several waste-to-resource pathways within one integrated platform. Recycled tire rubber is used in the production of green concrete, providing an alternative approach to conventional construction materials. Organic and livestock waste is processed through anaerobic digestion to generate biogas and recover valuable nutrients.
The system additionally supports the production of organic fertilizer and the recovery of phosphorus, creating multiple outputs from waste streams that would otherwise create environmental burdens.
The project is currently at the Proof of Concept stage. Laboratory testing has demonstrated the feasibility of recycled-rubber green concrete, while anaerobic digestion trials have shown promising potential for biogas generation and phosphorus recovery. The project has also received Silver Awards at the LivCom Awards in 2024 and 2025.
Impact & Opportunities
By integrating waste management, circular construction, renewable energy and resource recovery, the solution aims to address multiple environmental challenges through a single modular platform.
The system is designed to be adapted for municipalities, industrial zones and agricultural regions and can be scaled through applications in green concrete, biogas, organic fertilizer, phosphorus recovery, carbon credits and technology licensing.
To move from proof of concept to real-world implementation, MKK ReNovate Environmental Group is seeking pilot sites, technical partners, research collaboration, investment and policy support. These partnerships would help validate the system under real-world conditions and enable its replication across cities and developing regions.
