Christian Larsen currently serves as Director of Corporate Strategy at Fraunhofer Chile Research, an international center of excellence in energy sustainability and applied innovation. With more than two decades of experience in the mining and energy sectors, he has led R+D and technology transfer projects in Latin America, Europe and Australia, promoting solutions in decarbonization, green hydrogen, electromobility and district heat. His career combines technical and strategic roles, standing out in the articulation of public and private actors for the integration of new technologies in various national and international contexts.
He has led pioneering initiatives in the production and use of hydrogen, as well as in the development of predictive models based on artificial intelligence to optimize the maintenance and efficiency of industrial equipment. Its approach privileges collaboration, tangible impact and sustainability, fostering cooperation networks between science and industry.
Currently, Larsen also serves as Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean in the global network WAITRO, the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations, where he contributes to strengthening international cooperation, capacity building and the visibility of the region’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.
