Alina Brangs is the Program Manager of WAITRO’s Capacity Development Program, where she leads initiatives to strengthen research collaboration, innovation ecosystems, and sustainable development capacities worldwide. With a strong background in international cooperation, political education, and event coordination, she brings both strategic insight and hands-on experience to her role. 

Before joining WAITRO Operations, Alina worked with several renowned organizations in the international development sector, including the GIZ, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Chile, and in the Africa-Department of the German NGO Aktionsgemeinschaft Solidarische Welt e.V. (ASW). Her work has focused on gender justice, climate resilience, and equitable global partnerships, including managing and moderating stakeholder dialogue formats and developing educational and policy content. 

Alina holds a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Bonn and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Social Anthropology from the University of Göttingen. She also completed an academic exchange semester at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. 

Fluent in German, English, and Spanish, Alina is skilled in organizing high-level international events and facilitating intercultural dialogue. Her experience ranges from workshop moderation and communication strategy to monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
