Abeer Arafat is a materials and mechanical engineer who graduated from The American University in Cairo. She began her career in the Metallography and Heat Treatment Laboratory, where she contributed to several research projects focused on reducing the import of industrial spare parts through the application of heat treatment technologies. She is also certified in non-destructive testing and has extensive expertise in mechanical failure assessment.
Following a successful technical career, Abeer transitioned into international relations and knowledge management. She serves as the RSS focal point and representative to WAITRO and other international organizations. She is both an alumna and a founding member of the Global Young Academy.
Currently, Abeer serves as Senior Assistant to the President of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, for International Research Organizations Liaison. She had the privilege of accompanying and representing HRH during her tenure in several WAITRO leadership positions from 2013 to 2022, participating in all board meetings.
