About the Event
The Global Observance at UNIDO Headquarters will mark the inaugural International Day of Women in Industry (IDWI) by positioning women’s leadership at the forefront of industrial transformation. Bringing together senior representatives from governments, international organizations, the private sector and academia, the high-level event on Tuesday, 21 April 2026 will highlight the strategic role of women in strengthening competitiveness and advancing green and digital transitions, including in the context of AI and the future of work.
It will serve as a flagship platform to showcase innovative policies and partnerships, amplify concrete commitments, and celebrate excellence through the UNIDO Gender Equality Mobilization (GEM) Award. It will also provide opportunities for exchange, partnership-building and the announcement of commitments to advance gender equality in industry.
